Lead RN Operating Room
Job Description
Our client, a leading and highly respected healthcare facility, is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Operating Room Nurse (RN) to join their surgical services team. This is an incredible opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, delivering critical care to patients during surgical procedures.
As an OR Circulating Nurse, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and managing patient care in the operating room while ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient surgical environment. You’ll work closely with physicians, surgical teams, and support staff to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance are met at every stage of the procedure
Key Responsibilities:
 Conduct pre-op assessments, review patient history, labs, and diagnostics
 Prepare surgical suite, ensuring supplies, equipment, and instruments are ready and functioning
 Circulate during procedures, assisting the surgical team and anticipating needs
 Maintain accurate and timely documentation of procedures, patient status, and physician orders
 Uphold aseptic techniques, universal precautions, and safety protocols at all times
 Participate in room turnover, supply stocking, and staff/student training as needed
 Ensure accurate and up-to-date surgeon preference cards
 Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support patient recovery post-procedure
Qualifications:
 Minimum Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
 Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
 Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year of operating room experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Preferred: Experience in a Level 1 Trauma OR environment
 Licenses/Certifications Required:
- Current RN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification
