Are you an experienced CAD leader with proficiency in producing complex technical drawings for solar systems? Do you have strong leadership and excellent communication skills with the ability to manage teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in the solar industry?

In this direct hire, Head of CAD role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design workflow, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of project plans and drawings to internal and external teams and subcontractors while leading a team of CAD professionals. The role will drive continuous improvement by refining CAD department processes and integrating new tools and technologies and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.

Location: Hybrid in North Phoenix office for candidates local to Phoenix Metro area. *Will consider fully remote for candidates outside of Arizona.

Target Salary: $130K/yr - $145K /yr (DOE may consider higher) + Company paid employee medical coverage + dental + vision + 401K




Job Responsibilities:
  • Design Workflow Oversight and Optimization (40%)
  • Leadership and Team Management (30%)
  • Standards Development and Compliance (15%)
  • Collaborate with Project Teams (15%)
  • Reporting and Performance Metrics (5%)




Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.




Required Experience:
  • 5 - 10+ years of experience in CAD management, with a focus on technical design in solar, construction, or related industries.
  • 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD, with proficiency in producing complex technical drawings.
  • Experience in solar system design and engineering, with a strong understanding of building codes and NEC compliance.
  • Proven track record in leading a CAD team and managing high volumes of design work, ensuring quality and compliance.
